The goal of this table is to present the positioning of desktop video cards based on chips from AMD and NVIDIA, in order to show which products are competitors and to quickly answer one of the most common questions from our readers: “which video card based on a GPU from company A competes with a video card based on GPU x from company B?”
Prices were researched at Newegg.com on the day we published this article.
It is very important to note we listed the minimum prices we found, and we didn’t include refurbished or open box models, which would skew the prices. Since that there are several different brands selling video cards based on the same GPU, the price of a given video card is, in reality, within a range, with the maximum price usually between USD 10 to USD 20 above the minimum price, and you have to take this into consideration when comparing prices. As the prices listed below are the minimum prices for the products, they usually refer to the reference/stock model of the video cards. Models with additional features such as overclocking or better cooling solutions will generally cost more than what is listed below. We ignored any kind of rebate when compiling our table.
The table only considers pricing, and it doesn’t have any means to indicate which video card is “better” or “faster.”
