The Front and Top Panels
The front panel of the Zalman MS800 has 10 external 5.25” bays, which are also used as internal 3.5”/2.5” bays through adapters (the case comes with four). Also, one of the 5.25” bays comes with a cover that allows the installation of an external 3.5” device, using one of the four adapters that come with the product. All bays have meshed covers with air filters. Unfortunately, the Zalman MS800 doesn’t come with a front fan, nor does it support the installation of one.
The top panel of the Zalman MS800 has a mesh with an air filter, coming with one 120 mm fan installed, which can be replaced with a 140 mm model. No technical specifications for this fan are provided. The top panel also supports the installation of a second 120 mm or 140 mm fan. These fans can be installed on the fan controller that comes with the case.
The case comes with two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and the traditional audio jacks. The USB 3.0 ports use an internal connector. One of the highlights of the Zalman MS800 is the presence of a single-channel analog fan controller, supporting up to six fans.
