Enhanced Graphics Adapter

Video standard launched together with PC AT from IBM. It has a maximum resolution of 640 x 350 pixels with 16 simultaneous colors (from 64 available colors). The text mode characters are presented on an 8 x 14 pixel matrix.
EGA video cards use a 9-pin female connector.

Note that you need to install an EGA video monitor to an EGA video card in order to make the system works.  EGA video card doesn’t work together with other kinds of video monitor (MDA, CGA, VGA, SuperVGA, etc), even those more recent.
