Bits Per Second

Transfer rate measurement unit used on serial communications. Measures the number of bits that are transfered per second. One bit can be a number 0 or a number 1. To convert a given transfer rate in bps (bits per second) to B/s (bytes per second), you should divide the value by eight. To convert a given transfer rate in B/s to bps, you should multiply the value by eight.

For example, 100 bps equals to 12.5 B/s.
