Burst Extended Data Out

A rare type of RAM memory it was pratically not used on the PC. It was an enhanced EDO memory, faster. It became obsolete as SDRAM memories were released.

Its main feature is the ability to read sequential data faster, as it occours with FPM and EDO memories, but faster than these memory types. For example, to read four sequencial data (for consecutive addresses), the first data can delay several clock cycles to be read (7 clock ticks for example) but the following data after the very first will be read always using just one clock tick. Thus it is said that this memory type has a x-1-1-1 read cycle (FPM's read cycle is x-3-3-3 and EDO read cycle is x-2-2-2).
