MTX is an e-mail virus.

It is extremely common due to its countless versions. MTX virus is loaded through a .pif file and enters your computer usually through e-mail attachments. Once executed the attached infected file, MTX contaminates your machine and looks for your e-mail address list, sending a copy of itself automatically to all e-mail addresses listed there.

MTX virus is located on MTX_.exe, IE_PACK.exe and Win32.dll files under C:\Windows folder and the first thing it does is to infect Wsock32.dll file (located at C:\Windows\system), which controls Internet access, so the infected PC cannot browse the Internet normally and also cannot download the latest updates for your antivirus software.
