High-Temperature Polysilicon

Kind of panel used on high definition television sets (HDTVs) and videoprojectors. A liquid crystal display is used to create the image and using a high luminosity lamp and a set of lenses, light goes through this display and the contents of the display are projected. Each HTP display is also called panel and a HDTV or videoprojector needs three panels, one for each basic video color (red, green and blue).

HTPS technology has an issue when used with resolutions over 720p (1280 x 720 pixels). The problem is that is really hard to shrink the size of each transistor used on each pixel. Using this technology at 1920 x 1080 you will see that both brightness and image quality will drop, because of this issue.
