Digital phone line from the xDSL family.

HDSL lines are symmetrical, i.e. download and upload speeds are the same. It uses the same transfer speeds as T1 (1.544 Mbps) and E1 (2 Mbps) dedicated lines, depending on the telecommunication systems adopted by the country, North-American (T1) or European (E1).

HDSL uses two copper wire pairs when it is based on T1 standard or three pairs when it is based on E1 standard.
