Hard Disk or High Definition
(1) Sealed system containing high-capacity magnetic disks, where data and programs are stored. This system is necessary because the RAM memory contents are erased when the PC is turned off. The hard disk drive is also called mass memory or secondary memory.
(2) HD Audio, High Definition Audio, an integrated audio standard used by Intel chipsets from i915 and i925 on, formerly known as Azalia.
