Video Electronics Standards Association

VESA is an association between video card and video monitor manufacturers in order to develop video standards. VESA has already developed several standards in order to provide resolutions greater than VGA. These standards are collectively known as Super VGA. VESA has also developed in the past a bus called VESA Local Bus or simply VLB, which was used during 486 processor times.
