Personal Computer or Program Counter

(1) Name of the first personal computer released by IBM in 1981. At the time there were several different lines of personal computers, which were incompatible both in software and in hardware, like TRS-80, Apple II, Sinclair, etc. The name PC started to be used to name any computer that was compatible in hardware and software with the original IBM PC, even if IBM did not manufacture it.

(2) Processor internal register used to store the last memory address loaded.
