Arithmetic Logic Unit

Unit inside the processor responsible for arithmetic operations (like add and subtraction) and logic comparisons. This unit exists since the very first microprocessor and is also known as "integer unit" in order to differentiate it from the Floating Point Unit (FPU), which deals with more complex calculations.
