In order to protect your data in case of a disaster, especially fire or flood, ioSafe has launched a new version of their external hard drive Solo, the SoloPRO. We’ve already reviewed the Solo, where we set it on fire and then dropped gallons of water on it, and all the data in the drive remained intact afterwards. Actually, the SoloPRO is a new version of the Solo with USB 3.0 interface. It is available in 1 TB, 1.5 TB, and 2 TB capacities, and like its brother, the SoloPRO is rated to withstand 1550º F/843º C for 30 minutes, and be under water (10 feet or 3 m) for 3 days. When purchased this product includes a three-year warranty and a one-year data recovery service. For USD 100 you can upgrade this to a five-year warranty and a five-year data recovery service. The SoloPRO hard drive has a suggested price of USD 249.49 (1 TB model).
