VIA has just released a new model of their EPIA small form factor motherboard based on VIA’s C7 CPU, EPIA EN15000. This is the first EPIA motherboard to feature this processor. Another EPIA model with the same specs but using VIA Eden CPU was also released. Here are the main specs:
VIA C7 1.5 GHz CPU (EN15000) or VIA Eden 1.2 GHz CPU (EN12000E).
- Chipset: VIA CN700 north bridge and VIA VT8237R south bridge.
- Parallel IDE ports: Two ATA-133 ports.
- Serial ATA ports: Two, controlled by the south bridge chip.
- USB: Six USB 2.0 ports.
- Firewire: One port controlled by VIA VT6307S chip.
- On-board video: VIA UniChrome Pro engine with MPEG-2 decoder.
- On-board TV out: Yes, using VIA VT1625 HDTV Encoder.
- On-board LAN: Gigabit, VIA VT6122.
- On-board audio: Six-channel controlled by VIA VT1618.
- Slots: One PCI.
- Form factor: Mini-ITX (6.69” x 6.69”, 17 cm x 17 cm)
