By Cássio Lima on March 1, 2011 - 3:52 PM

VIA has announced the Eden X2 CPU, a dual-core processor ideal for industrial and commercial fanless embedded systems due to its low power consumption. It is based on the 40-nm manufacturing process, has native support for 64-bit operating systems, support for virtualization, and includes an AES Security Engine, a technology that enables hardware-based data encryption on the fly.

The VIA Eden X2 is pin-to-pin compatible with VIA Eden, VIA C7 and VIA Nano E-Series processors. It will be officially launched at the Embedded World 2011.
