VIA Announced EPIA EX Mini-ITX

VIA unveils the EPIA EX series, the first to feature the VIA CX700M2 advanced system media processor with enhanced audio and video technologies.

Targeted for x86-based consumer electronics, the new Mini-ITX mainboard has an operating power consumption of less than 14W.

It is powered by 1.5 GHz or fanless 1.0 GHz VIA C7 processor and features hardware decoding acceleration of MPEG-2/-4 and WMV9 video, an HDTV encoder, the Chromotion CE engine and VIA Vinyl Multi-channel HD audio through the VIA VT1708 HD audio codec.
