Silicon Power Launches 64 GB eSATA/USB Flash Memory
By Cássio Lima on February 27, 2009 - 3:06 PM

Silicon Power has increased its eSATA/USB flash memory line-up with the launch of 64 GB model. eSATA interface provides a higher performance in read/write operations than USB 2.0 interface, which limits transfer rate up to 480 Mbps (60 MB/s in theory, 48 MB/s in practical terms). Silicon Power eSATA/USB flash memories offer read and write speeds of up to 90 MB/s and 30 MB/s, respectively, and can be found in 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB capacities. They also feature a mini USB 2.0 port that can be used if an eSATA port is not available. In this case read and write speeds drop to 30 MB/s (read) and 25 MB/s (write). No word on pricing and availability has been disclosed.
