By Cássio Lima on March 1, 2011 - 3:45 PM

Seagate launched today a 3 TB hard drive that eliminates the need to purchase extra hardware or software to overcome the 2 TB barrier imposed by legacy PC BIOS and older operating systems, such as Windows XP. Thanks to the free Seagate DiscWizard software you can have access to the full 3 TB of capacity on systems running Windows XP.

The 3 TB Barracuda XT works at 7,200 rpm, has SATA-600 interface and 64 MB of cache, and reach the market with a suggested price of USD 279.
