The Kabuto 2 (SY1225HB12M-P) is the latest CPU cooler from Scythe that is the successor of the already discontinued original Kabuto cooler. It features various improvements over the previous version. One of the highlights of the Kabuto 2 is its included 120 mm fan (Scythe Glide Stream). This fan is equipped with special rubber pads in order to reduce the transfer of fan vibrations to the CPU cooler itself or to the whole PC case.
A “reinforcement bar” ensures the stability of the Scythe Kabuto 2 by connecting the cooler base with the fin structure. Similar to the first version, Kabuto 2 is able to supply additional airflow to cool the chipset, memory, voltage regulator circuitry and other components that are located around the CPU socket.
The Kabuto 2 has a nickel-plated copper base, six copper heatpipes, aluminum fins, and is compatible with Intel (sockets LGA 2011, LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA775 and LGA1366) and AMD (sockets AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+ and FM1) processors.
The Scythe Kabuto 2 is available today on the European market with a suggested retail price of 34.00 euros.
