Sapphire has just started shipping its first CPU cooler. Designed for the enthusiast and based on the company’s Vapor-X technology, the cooler features two fans and is compatible with the latest Intel and AMD processors.
Sapphire’s vapor chamber cooling technology, known as Vapor-X, was introduced with its first Atomic video card in late 2007. Since then, the technology has been used in several generations of enthusiast video cards.
Now, Sapphire has used Vapor-X technology in its first universal CPU cooler. In a similar configuration to its video cards, the vapor chamber is in direct contact with the CPU surface to accelerate the flow of heat away. The heat is then carried away by a multi-heatpipe array and cooling fins.
The Sapphire Vapor-X CPU cooler is shipping now and will be available with a suggested retail price of USD 69.
