Samsung Announces G Series of External Hard Drives

Samsung has announced G series of eco-friendly external hard drives. Models from this series are available in 2.5” (250 GB, 320 GB, 500 GB and 640 GB capacities) and 3.5” (1 TB, 1.5 TB and 2 TB capacities) form factors, named G2 Portable and G3 Station, respectively (Samsung will soon introduce 1.8” version within G series). These new disks have USB 2.0 interface, case with texture inspired by Baobab tree (from Madagascar) and are RoHS-compliant. All G disks will reach the market by mid-January 2010. G2 640 GB and G3 2 TB will cost USD 199 (remaining models are still unpriced).
