NETGEAR has announced two new wireless products based on Airgo´s True MIMO technology. The MIMO G Wireless Router (WGM124) and Wireless PC Card (WGM511) promise up to eight times the speed and coverage of standard 802.11g devices. The router has three MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) antennas and comes with NETGEAR’s Smart Wizard for easy set-up with automatic detection and connection to an Internet service provider. It offers a double firewall with Network Address Translation (NAT) and Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI), along with Wireless Encryption Protocol (WEP) 64, 128–bit encryption and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA, Pre-Shared Key). The products will be available this month in Japan and soon in the USA.
