MSI Launches P55-GD85 Motherboard

MSI launched today P55-GD85 motherboard. This socket 1156 motherboard is based on Intel P55 chipset, has four DDR3 sockets supporting up to DDR3-2133 through overclocking (16 GB max), two PCI Express x16 slots supporting SLI and CrossFire configurations, two PCI Express x1 slots, two PCI slots, one IDE port, two SATA-600 ports, seven SATA-300 ports, one eSATA port, two USB 3.0 ports, six USB 2.0 ports, one Firewire port, two Gigabit Ethernet ports and 7.1 audio.

P55-GD85 also supports several features like an automatic overclocking chip (OC Genie), a cooling solution based on an 8-mm heat-pipe (usually motherboards use 5-mm heat-pipes), a voltage regulator with a different design called “DrMOS” (click here to find out how it works), APS (Active Phase Switching) feature to save energy and on-board power and reset buttons. No word on pricing and availability.
