MSI Announces Big Bang-XPower X58 Motherboard

MSI has expanded its Big Bang line-up with the launch of a model based on Intel X58 chipset. This board supports Intel Core i7 processors (socket 1366), features six DDR3 sockets (24 GB max; up to 2,133 MHz under overcloking, according to the manufacturer), six PCI Express x16 slots, one PCI Express x1 slot, one eSATA port, six SATA-300 ports, six SATA-600 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, nine USB 2.0 ports, one Firewire port, two Gigabit Ethernet ports and 7.1 audio (a PCI Express x1 card featuring optical and coaxial SPDIF outputs). It makes use of only top-notch components including solid caps and ferrite chokes, and comes with several features like Winki, 16-phase DrMOS voltage regulator circuit, APS (Active Phase Switching) and OC Genie, probes for monitoring CPU, memory and chipset voltages with a multimeter and two 8-pins power connector to provide more power to the CPU. No word on pricing yet.
