Lexar Media has announced the launch of Crucial Ballistix DDR3-1600 (BL2KIT25664FN1608) memory module equipped with thermal sensor. The module is available in 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) dual-channel kits and works at 1,600 MHz with 8-8-8-24 timings at 1.65 V. The thermal sensor monitors the temperature of the memory module in real time and transmits this information to a monitoring utility installed on the computer. Crucial Ballistix DDR3-1600 has also a new heatsink that according to the manufacturer reduces memory module temperature by up to 30% compared to the current Crucial Ballistix design. Those interested in this product must wait until July when it will come to the market. No word on pricing.
