LaCie's Safer Mobile HD
By Alessandra Carneiro on September 6, 2006 - 1:39 PM

LaCie's SAFE Mobile Hard Drive, a USB 2.0 hard drive with built-in fingerprint authentication, has just become safer. Now it guarantees protection for your confidential files with two additional layers of security: a secure chain lock port to physically attach the drive to your desk, and a "drive lock" firmware, which prevents access to the hard drive content when plugged into another computer.

The desktop version comes in 160 GB, 320 GB and 500 GB and costs from USD 150 to USD 300. The Laptop Version (no power supply needed) comes in 40 GB, 80 GB and 120 GB and costs from USD 100 to USD 280.
