Gigabyte Unleashes G1.Sniper 2 Gaming Motherboard

Gigabyte has launched their first motherboard to support PCI Express 3.0 slots, the G1.Sniper 2, which is the latest member in their G1-Killer series of motherboards designed for extreme gaming.

The G1.Sniper 2 motherboard is based on the Intel Z68 chipset and supports LGA1155 processors, including the upcoming 22 nm "Ivy Bridge" chips. The first G1.Sniper was a LGA1366 motherboard based on the Intel X58 chipset.

Gigabyte's G1.Sniper 2 motherboard features four DDR3-2133 memory sockets, two PCI Express 3.0 slots, two standard PCI slots, four SATA-600 ports, three SATA-300 ports, one eSATA-300 port, four USB 3.0 ports, 14 USB 2.0 ports, an 8-phase voltage regulator circuit, a Bigfoot Networks Killer E2100 network controller, a Creative CA20K2 audio processor (7.1 channel audio), and an HDMI output. It also supports LucidLogix's Virtu GPU virtualization technology.
