Gigabyte last week announced six motherboards as part of its new S-series. The parts, based on nForce 590 SLI, nForce 570 SLI, nForce 4 SLI and nForce 6100, are aimed at AMD socket AM2 processors. The flagship GA-M59SLI-S5 sports silent-pipe cooling technology, SLI and a variety of proprietary security, management and overclocking utilities. Using a nForce 590 SLI chipset, it features DDR2-800 memory support, dual Gigabit connections, LinkBoost (which increases PCI Express bandwidth), six Serial ATA 3 Gb/s ports and eight-channel high-def audio with DTS and Dolby.
