Gigabyte Announces AMD Dragon Platform Motherboard

Gigabyte has announced its first motherboard based on AMD Dragon platform, MA-790FXT-UD5P. This socket AM3 motherboard is part of Durable 3 series, features AMD 790FX chipset (SB750 southbridge chip), supports DDR3 up to 1,666 MHz (max. 16 GB), has two PCI Express x16 slots, three PCI Express x1 slots, two PCI slots, one ATA-133 port, 10 SATA-300 ports (six controlled by the southbridge chip and four controlled by Gigabyte SATA2 chip), one floppy disk drive port (controlled by ITE 8720 chip), two Gigabit Ethernet ports (Realtek 8111DL chip), three Firewire ports (two on the rear panel and one via the Firewire bracket connected to the internal header) and 12 USB ports (eight on the rear panel and four via the USB brackets connected to the internal headers). No word on pricing and availability.
