Fujifilm will launch in September the FinePix S9000, allegedly world’s first 9-megapixel camera, offering proprietary Super CCD High Resolution sensor and a new 10.7x optical zoom equivalent to a 28-300 mm film model zoom. Suggested retail price is USD 699.95. In October, the company will release a second 9-megapixel cam, the FinePix E900, a compact design with 4x optical zoom and 2-inch LCD screen priced at USD 499.95. The S9000 will ship with four AA alkaline and the E900 with 2 NiMH rechargeable batteries. Both use Fujifilm's xD-Picture Card.
