Today, Corsair announced the worldwide availability of the Corsair AX1200i power supply, the world’s first PC power supply with a digital control design.
The digital control allows extremely tight voltage regulation and the power supply to be controlled by a control panel on Windows, thanks to the presence of a “Corsair Link” cable that connects the power supply to a USB 2.0 header on the computer’s motherboard. This control panel allows you to adjust the temperature at which the fan starts spinning (by default, the fan starts spinning at 40% load) if you want the power supply to use a +12 V single-rail or a multiple-rail design, and to monitor, in real time, voltages, currents, and power consumption of all outputs as well as the AC input, also giving real-time efficiency values. The AX1200i is rated at 1,200 W, has a fully modular cabling system, and 80 Plus Platinum certification (i.e., 92% minimum efficiency at 50% load). The suggested U.S. retail price is USD 350.
