CES 2009: Seasonic Announces 80Plus Gold Power Supplies

Seasonic has announced its power supply series with 80 Plus certification (which means they have efficiency up to 92%) that comes to compete with Antec Signature series. PSUs from this series will be available in 550 W (efficiency up to 87%), 650 W (efficiency up to 90%) and 750 W (efficiency up to 87%) versions, will have active PFC, Japanese solid aluminum caps, DC to DC converter design for 3.3 V and 5 V outputs (i.e, these outputs are generated from switching voltage regulators connected to the 12 V output), dual-rail project (click here to know more about this subject), modular cabling system, a 120-mm fan, tighter 3% regulation (usually power supplies have 5% tolerance for their outputs), will be labeled at 50º C and will have 5-year warranty. Like Antec Signature these power supplies will reach the market costing more than competing products.
