ATI has also announced a new chipset series aimed at AMD’s AM2 platform. The Radeon Xpress 1100 and 1150 feature integrated Radeon X300 graphics (DirectX 9 and Shader Model 2.0) clocked at 300 MHz and 400 MHz, respectively, and capable of addressing up to 128 MB of memory through HyperMemory. The PCI Express chipsets are paired with ATI’s new SB600 southbridge, which supports four Serial ATA 3 Gb/s, ATA-133, ten USB 2.0 ports, six PCI slots and high-def audio. ATI said that its CrossFire Xpress 3200 lineup will also be offered for AM2 processors.
