AMD launches Athlon 64 X2 3800+

AMD has officially launched the dual-core Athlon 64 X2 3800+, a cheaper model clocked at 2 GHz and sporting 512 KB of cache per core, which has been reportedly on sale for some weeks. The socket 939 processor costs USD 354 in 1,000-unit quantities while the top of the line 4800+ sells for USD 902. AMD has also released the 64-bit enabled socket 754 Sempron 3400+ clocked at 2 GHz and equipped with 256 KB of cache (USD 134).
