AMD and IBM have reportedly agreed to maintain a development alliance until 2011. The arrangement involves cooperation in 32 and 22-nm chip fabrication processes and a series of technologies related to transistors, interconnects, lithography and processor packaging. The partnership between the companies began in 2002 when IBM joined AMD to help in the latter’s silicon-on-insulator manufacturing technique.
