AMD Launches Radeon HD 6790

AMD has finally launched their weapon to fight with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti, introduced three weeks ago. The new Radeon HD 6790 costs USD 150 and is positioned between the Radeon HD 5770 and the Radeon HD 6850.

According to our review, the reference model of the AMD Radeon HD 6790 was up to 23% faster than NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti.

Specs-wise, the AMD Radeon HD 6790 works internally at 840 MHz, has 1 GB of GDDR5 memory running at 4.2 GHz through a 256-bit interface, 800 processors, and two DVI, one HDMI and two mini-DisplayPort video outputs.

Several AMD partners have launched models based on the newest GPU from AMD, as you can see on the list below.
