Today AMD officially launched their A-Series line of APUs (codenamed “Llano”) targeted for both notebooks and desktops systems. APUs or Accelerated Processing Units are processors that have a CPU, a GPU, and a north bridge (including a memory controller) in the same die.
A-Series APUs are built in a 32-nm process, features a DirectX 11 GPU, a DDR3 memory controller, are compatible with the FM1 socket, and support Turbo Core technology (on select models). According to AMD, over 150 notebooks and desktops will sport A-Series APUs throughout the second quarter of 2011 and beyond.
In the table below you can see the models launched and their main specs.
