Intel introduces BTX products
By Rodrigo Chia on November 16, 2004 - 12:51 AM

Intel introduced a bunch of products compatible with the Balanced Technology Extended (BTX) format for use in the worldwide distribution channel. The list includes microBTX boxed motherboards (BOXD915GMHLK and BOXD915GMHL) featuring integrated graphics and PCI Express. The first one offers additional features such as advanced audio and FireWire support. Intel is also launching boxed processors (530J, 550J and 560J) with BTX Type I thermal modules. Previously BTX PCs were available only from OEMs, but now should be offered by the channel too. The components require power supplies and cases compatible with the new form factor.
