Creative will start selling later this month a new series of Sound Blaster sound cards called X-Fi. Based on the X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity audio processor, which is capable of 10,000+ MIPS, the products achieve up to 116 dB SNR (in the Elite Pro model). The X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS, named after professional gamer Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel, provides 109 dB quality and includes 64 MB of on-board X-RAM for high performance gaming. All cards utilize Sound Blaster’s 24-bit Crystalizer and CMSS-3D technologies. Prices range from USD 200 (XtremeMusic) to USD 400 (Elite Pro).
