Western Digital has just entered the SSD business (thanks to the March 2009 acquisition of SiliconSystems) with the launch of SiliconDrive III SSD series. SiliconDrive III line-up include 2.5” and 1.8” SATA-300 (read speed of 100 MB/s and write speed of 80 MB/s) and 2.5” PATA (read speed of 85 MB/s and write speed of 60 MB/s) models in capacities up to 120 GB. No word on pricing and availability.
