AMD/ATI has just announced the launch of Mobility Radeon HD 4860 and Mobility Radeon HD 4830 GPUs specially designed to the notebook market. These 40-nm GPUs have 640 shader processors and support CrossFireX technology. Mobility Radeon HD 4860 works internally at 650 MHz and accesses its memory at 1 GHz DDR through a 128-bit interface, while Mobility Radeon HD 4830 works internally at 450 MHz or 600 MHz and accesses its memory at 800 MHz DDR or 900 MHz DDR through a 128-bit interface. According to AMD/ATI the first notebooks based on these new GPUs will reach the market in the second quarter of this year.
