AMD Reveals Notebook Platform 'Puma'

AMD announced its next-generation notebook platform, called 'Puma'. The platform features AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processors with ATI Radeon HD 3000 Series Graphics and incorporates the latest wireless connectivity like 802.11n and 3G. Acer, Asus, Clevo, Fujitsu, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, HP, MSI, NEC and Toshiba will launch  notebooks based on this platform.

As a part of the new platform, AMD also announced a new notebook processor and chipset: the AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile processor includes AMD Independent Dynamic Core Technology, a new mobile-optimized memory controller, and power-optimized HyperTransport 3.0. The new mobile AMD 7-series chipset, AMD M780G and AMD SB700, comes with integrated ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics and delivers support for Microsoft DirectX 10.
