Fujitsu plans 200 GB perpendicular HD

Fujitsu plans to release a 200 GB 2.5-inch notebook hard drive in the first half of 2007. This capacity will be achieved through perpendicular recording, which implies the vertical alignment of data on the plane of the disk, taking less room in comparison to the horizontal orientation of longitudinal recording. Currently the largest 2.5-inch drives available in the market have 120 GB of storage capacity.
