Nvidia unveils nForce Professional MCPs

Nvidia announced a new family of PCI Express chipsets, the nForce Professional, aimed at the Opteron/Athlon 64 server and workstation market. The 2200 chip has 20 configurable PCI-E lanes, four Serial ATA II ports, two ATA-133 ports, RAID 0, 1 and 0+1, NCQ support, ten USB 2.0 slots, 8-channel AC´97 audio and Gigabit Ethernet. Another chip, the 2050, extends the functionality of the 2200 with 20 additional PCI-E lanes, four Serial ATA II ports and Gibabit Ethernet connectivity. The 2200 can be combined with up to three 2050 companion chips. Additionally, Nvidia launched Quadro graphics cards supporting Scalable Link Interface (SLI).
