VIA will start shipping later this quarter a C7 and Eden chipset integrating the north and south bridges in a single chip. Developed for the embedded market, the CX700 is 34% smaller than a traditional two-chip solution, saving motherboard space. It supports 533 MHz FSB, 4 GB of DDR400 or DDR2-533 memory, Serial ATA 3 Gb/s, AGP 8x, six USB ports and four PCI slots. The chipset also includes VIA’s UniChrome Pro graphics core.
