MSI releases nForce4 SLI motherboard

MSI launched two motherboards based on nForce4 chipsets. The K8N Neo Platinum is based on the Ultra version, which brings Serial ATA II compatibility and NV firewall, among other features. The highlight though is the K8N Diamond, based on the nForce4 SLI, sporting multiple VGA cards support through Scalable Link Interface, Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit audio and Wi-Fi (802.11g) and Bluetooth connectivity.

The K8N Diamond´s main specifications are the following:

  • MSI SLI1 GHz HyperTransport FSB
  • Dual channel DDR400
  • 4x DIMMs sockets (up to 4 GB)
  • 2x PCI-E x16 slots
  • 2x PCI-E x1 slots
  • 3x PCI slots
  • 4x Serial ATA II (chipset)
  • 4x Serial ATA (Silicon Image)
  • 2x Ultra DMA 133
  • 3x IEEE1394b ports
  • 10x USB 2.0 ports
  • 8-channel audio (Sound Blaster Live!)
  • Dual Gigabit LAN
  • Wi-Fi/Bluetooth PCI card
