Aleratec announced the new 1:3 Copy Cruiser Blu LS, a LightScribe-enabled disc publisher supporting Blu-ray recording. The 1:3 Copy Cruiser Blu LS incorporates three, 6x, SATA Blu-ray drives that can simultaneously produce up to 3 silkscreen quality, direct to disc DVD or CD LightScribe labels or up to 3 Blu-ray, DVD or CD disc copies in record time.
The 1:3 Copy Cruiser Blu LS has an eSATA connection to your computer.It supports 50GB capacity double layer BD media, 6x BD recording speeds and has an eSATA interface. The 1:3 Copy Cruiser Blu LS has an estimated retail price of $3,199.
Kingmax announced the microSDHC 8 GB, which can storage more 2000 digital songs (mp3) or thousands of photos (jpeg) or hundreds of video clips. The manufacturer guarantees the world’ smallest mobile phone memory card with proprietary PIP packaging technology. It has dimension of 15mm×11mm×1mm and it's Class6, which offers minimum write speed of 6 MB/s.
PQI’s Traveling Disk U173 launches a new USB flash drive which can be used as a key chain. Its models have 1 to 8 GB of storage capacity and it's available in the combination of blue/black or silver/white colors.
The drive comes with ten functions, as outlook synchronization and PC-Lock, and some of them customizable with the software Ur-Smart, that can be downloaded from PQI’s website. It is really portable, with measures of 44.5 x 19.0 x 11.0 mm and weights 10.0g ± 0.5g.
One of the most interesting products released by Seagate at CES is the new Momentus 5400 PSD Hybrid Drive, which combines a hard drive and flash memory into a single device. Indicated for laptops, the Momentus 5400 PSD features 80 GB, 120 GB or 160 GB capacities and 256 MB flash memory. It has internal data rate of 44 MB/s and SATA 1.5Gb/s interface.
Sharkoon is expanding its Swift-Case line up of external hard drive enclosures by adding a model with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) access control, to protect against unauthorized access. Within the silver aluminium enclosure sits a RFID transceiver that responds solely to the accompanying RFID transponder. The transponder comes in a simple plastic fob design that attaches securely to key chains.
Users can establish a unique encryption key, so the hard drive can be locked or unlocked with a simple wave of the transponder in front of the sensor. The radio frequency is protected by 128-bit AES encryption.
The Swift-Case Securita transfers data to computers via USB 2.0. It will be available first in Europe for the suggested retail price of 34 euros (around US$ 50).
Samsung announced a new multi-level cell flash-based 128 GB solid state drive (SSD). The SSD will be launched this year in 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch versions for notebook and desktop PCs. The new drive offers a data writing speed of 70 megabytes per second (MB/s), the industry’s highest for MLC-based SSDs, says Samsung. The reading speed is at 100MB/s. Featuring a 3.0 gigabit-per-second SATA II interface, it also has low power consumption level of 0.5W in active mode. Samsung says it will start the production in the first half of 2008.
In its release, Samsung shows a research from Web-Feet which says the SSD market is expected to reaches to US$ 6.6 billion by 2010, a compound annual growth rate of over 120 percent.
Lexar Media announces the new Crucial Solid State Drives (SSD). SSDs are more durable, require less power, and offer better overall system performance than traditional hard disk drives. The new Crucial SSDs features 2.5" and native SATA 3.0Gb/s interface. Product availability is expected in Q1 2008, in 64GB version first. Price is not available yet.

It is available in strawberry pink, banana yellow or blueberry blue colors and its available from 1GB to 4GB. Designed for youngers, it can be hanged it on a mobile phone as a dongle accessory. Transcend announced its latest S series Multi-Card Reader, the S6. The reader is compact and portable, and features a built-in USB 2.0 connector, which allows data transfer rates up to 480 Mb/s.
The handy S6 also supports the most popular kinds of memory cards: SD, SDHC, MMC, MMCplus, xD Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, and supports miniSD, miniSDHC, microSD/TransFlash, microSDHC, MMCmobile, RS-MMC, MMCmicro, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo and Memory Stick Micro (M2) via an adapter.
Toshiba announced five news HDs of its 1.8-inch series. The the 120GB MK1214GAH in indicated for thin and light mobile PCs; the 80GB MK8025GAL weighs only two grams; and the 60GB MK6028GA for ultra-mobile PC and portable handheld CE devices. Those models are equipped with a PATA interface and 2MB buffer.
For CE applications, Toshiba introduced two 60GB 1.8-inch, with 5-millimeter-high form factor. The model MK6014GAL features 4,200 RPM and 2MB buffer, while the MK6015GAA offers a 3,600 RPM spin speed.
