Kingston has launched SSDNow V+ series of 2.5” solid state drives. Available in 64, 128 and 256 GB capacities, SSDNow V+ SSDs have SATA-300 interface and provide read speed of up to 220 MB/s and write speed of up to 140 MB/s (64 GB model), 170 MB/s (128 GB model) and 180 MB/s (256 GB model). 64 GB model is priced at USD 190 (prices of the remaining models were not disclosed).

Samsung Announces Spinpoint F3 Hard Disk Line-up

Storage Samsung has just announced the launch of its newest hard disk drive line-up target to desktops, Spinpoint F3. Available in 500 GB and 1 TB capacities, new Samsung disks have SATA-300 interface, spin at 7,200 rpm, have a 32 MB buffer (500 GB model has a 16 MB buffer), make use of 500 GB platters and support Native Command Queuing (NCQ) technology. 500 GB model is now available on the market, but 1 TB model will only reach the market next month. No word on pricing.

Western Digital Launches 1 TB Mobile Hard Disk

Western Digital has increased its Scorpio Blue line-up of 2.5” hard disk drives with the launch of two models: WD7500KEVT (750 GB) and WD10TEVT (1 TB). These disks have SATA-300 interface, spin at 5,200 rpm, have an 8 MB buffer, make use of 333 GB platters and support WhisperDrive (to reduce noise level production), ShockGuard (shock-proof mechanisms) and SecurePark (parks the recording heads off the disk surface during spin up, spin down and when the drive is off) technologies. According to Western Digital 750 GB model is priced at USD 189.99, while the 1 TB model is only available inside My Passport Essential SE USB drives, priced at USD 249.99

A-Data has increased its XPG product line with the launch of 2.5” SX95 SSD drives. Available in 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB capacities, SX95 SSDs have a DRAM buffer (no word on size), SATA-300 interface and provide read and write speeds of up to 230 MB/s and 180 MB/s, respectively (32 GB and 64 GB models provide read speed of 210 MB/s and write speed of 140 MB/s). No word on pricing.

Patriot has launched Torqx M28 series of solid state drives. Available in 128 and 256 GB capacities, Torqx M28 SSDs have 128 MB of buffer, SATA-300 interface and provide read and write speeds of up to 220 MB/s and 200 MB/s, respectively (64 GB model provides read speed of 220 MB/s and write speed of 135 MB/s). Patriot Torqx M28 drives will reach the market soon and will be provided with a 10-year warranty.

Super Talent has launched a new series of 2.5” solid state drives called MasterDrive SX. Available in 64, 128 and 256 GB capacities, MasterDrive SX SSDs have a 128 MB buffer, SATA-300 interface and provide read and write speeds of up to 220 MB/s and 200 MB/s, respectively (64 GB model provides read speed of 200 MB/s and write speed of 120 MB/s). According to Super Talent the street price for the 128 GB model is around USD 359 (prices of the remaining models were not disclosed).
