A-Data has increased its XPG product line with the launch of 2.5” SX95 SSD drives. Available in 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB capacities, SX95 SSDs have a DRAM buffer (no word on size), SATA-300 interface and provide read and write speeds of up to 230 MB/s and 180 MB/s, respectively (32 GB and 64 GB models provide read speed of 210 MB/s and write speed of 140 MB/s). Super Talent has launched a new series of 2.5” solid state drives called MasterDrive SX. Available in 64, 128 and 256 GB capacities, MasterDrive SX SSDs have a 128 MB buffer, SATA-300 interface and provide read and write speeds of up to 220 MB/s and 200 MB/s, respectively (64 GB model provides read speed of 200 MB/s and write speed of 120 MB/s). According to Super Talent the street price for the 128 GB model is around USD 359 (prices of the remaining models were not disclosed).

Western Digital has just entered the SSD business (thanks to the March 2009 acquisition of SiliconSystems) with the launch of SiliconDrive III SSD series. SiliconDrive III line-up include 2.5” and 1.8” SATA-300 (read speed of 100 MB/s and write speed of 80 MB/s) and 2.5” PATA (read speed of 85 MB/s and write speed of 60 MB/s) models in capacities up to 120 GB. No word on pricing and availability.
