Hitachi-LG released in Europe the GSA-H55N, a 20x Multi DVD burner drive with Security Function. The SecurDisc technology enables secure data protection and content access control when writing data on CD and DVD formats, avoiding unauthorized access through password protection. The user can also applies a digital signature to data.
It features 20x writing on DVD±R, 12x for DVD-RAM, 10x for DVD±R DL, 8x for DVD+RW and 6x for DVD-RW. Its suggested price in Europe is 59 euro.
Plextor launches Vista-compatible 18x DVD Burner. The TurboPlex PX-800A DVD Super Multi Drive The PX-800A supports 18X burns on single layer DVD±R media (4,7 GB), 8X burns on double/dual layer media (8,5 GB) and 12X on DVD-RAM media.
It features a 2MB buffer and Buffer Underrun Proof Technology to prevent buffer underrun errors. The drive comes with the Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 for burning video, music, photos, and data to DVD or CD. Its Suggested Retail Price is USD 79.00.
Simple Drive, from Simple Tech, is now available up to 1 TB. The external HD features 7200 rpm, USB 2.0 connector and one-click backup button. The drive is designed by Pininfarina, the design firm that gives Ferrari sports cars their stylish lines. The colors are based on their capacity: red (160 GB), white (250 GB), sapphire (320 GB), onyx (500 GB) and gray (750 GB and 1 TB).

Transcend introduces a classic USB 2.0 Flash Drive, the JetFlash V90C with a capacity of 2 GB. It is cased in a metal body and adorned with a fiberglass woven pattern. It comes with a practical key chain; thus it can be easily stored in a pocket or bag. The JetFlash V90C measures 33.8 mm x 13.1 mm x 4.5 mm and weights a 7g. It includes eight functions: AutoLogin, PC-Lock, Favorites, Secret-Zip, E-mail, DataBackup, My JetFlash, and Online update.
Plextor has announced the PX-DB608AL solution, a slim line optical drive solution for desktop PCs. The 'dual-bay' Plextor PX-DB600 features two optical slim line drives which fits into the space of just one 5.25 " drive.

Stardom introduces what it claims to be the world first and smallest 2.5" SATA RAID. The SR2760-2S-S2 -2.5" SATA RAID module not only unites RAID 1 technology and enables to accommodate 2 x 2.5" SATA hard drives, but conforms perfectly to the dimension of a standard 3.5" SATA hard drive.
It's also equipped with drive trays for the enclosed drives to be removed conveniently when necessary. It performs the transferring rate over to 79 MB/second under RAID 0.
SanDisk introduced an 8 GB SD High Capacity (SDHC) card, the highest capacity now available in the SD format. The new card holds more than 4,000 high-resolution pictures, as many as 2,000 digital songs or up to 15 hours of MPEG 4 video2.
The 8GB SDHC card will come bundled with a SanDisk MicroMate USB 2.0 reader. It will be available in April in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In the United States, it will carry a manufacturer's suggested retail price of USD 189.99.
SanDisk unveiled its solid state drive (SSD) product line for the portable computer market with the 32 GB, 2.5-inch Serial ATA interface model. The new SSD is compatible with most mainstream notebook designs.
SanDisk SSDs deliver 2 million hours mean time between failures (MTBF), approximately six times more than notebook hard disks. With no moving parts, SanDisk SSDs are also much less likely to fail when a notebook computer is dropped or exposed to extreme temperatures.
In notebook computers, data moves to and from an SSD more than 100 times faster than data moving to and from a hard disk. The new model sustained read rate of 67 MB/s. The SSDs have also minimal power requirements: just 0.9 watts during active operation.
It is available now to computer manufacturers with initial pricing of $350 USD for large volume orders.
